Rice Dumpling Mold (2019)

The fish-shaped rice dumpling mold assists users in wrapping rice dumplings by removing the problem of having to hold the rice dumpling in shape using their hands.

 

As the mold is being used, it also appears that the user is feeding the fish. This traces back to the origin of the rice dumpling which was made and thrown into the river to prevent fish from eating the body of poet Qu Yuan who committed suicide in the river.
